Established patients may use the patient portal or call the office. If your child is ill – fever, sore throat, vomiting, or other acute symptoms, contact your local PCP or seek care at your local urgent care.
Established patients may send a portal message during office hours (Monday-Thursday only). Follow the instructions of the clinical staff, which may include an evaluation by the PCP or Urgent Care/Emergency Room.
General medical questions can be sent to the medical staff as a secure message through the patient portal. The provider’s medical staff is able to answer most routine questions and, if needed, can arrange for a conversation with a provider when deemed necessary. Phone calls are returned within 48 business hours. If you do not receive a call in that time period, call again and speak to the receptionist. Please note: calls with a provider may be a billed service.
To request a prescription refill, contact the pharmacy and have them fax the refill request to Sancta Familia Center at fax # 614-259-3761. If this is not possible, please send a secure message through the patient portal. Allow 72 hours for prescriptions to be authorized and sent to the pharmacy. If the prescription is a controlled substance, it may require the family to pick up and sign for the prescription in the office, Monday-Thursday ONLY.
Additionally, please be observant if the patient takes a prescriptive medication and is running low or is planning to travel, as the office will need ample time to fill or refill pharmaceuticals.
In the case of an emergency that cannot wait for a phone call, call 911 or go directly to the nearest Emergency Room. Urgent medical problems that cannot wait until the next day need to be evaluated by the physicians at the nearest Nationwide Children’s Hospital Close to Home Center. For questions that can be answered the next business day, please follow the directions above under Questions for the Medical Staff. For questions that cannot wait until the next business day, Dr. Lewis can be reached after-hours at 614-285-4750. Please leave a detailed message on his confidential voice mail, if he does not answer immediately. Dr. Lewis attempts to answer all questions within 30 minutes. If you do not receive a return call within that time period, please call again in case Dr. Lewis did not receive your message. Calls placed after-hours are meant for truly urgent matters related to your care at SFC that cannot wait until the next business day and may incur a charge for the provider’s time.
